The Florida Supreme Court recently upheld a decision that left very valuable assets to relatives that the widow did not want to receive the assets. This is because she had done a “Do It Yourself” online Will and had inadvertently left valuable assets to the wrong relatives. She wasn’t an experienced Estate Planning attorney and therefore left a great bulk of her hard earned “Life’s Work”™ to people that she wanted to have a small portion of her estate. She wanted those assets to go to her brother, but by not knowing what she was doing (which is easy to do because she was not an experienced Estate Planning Attorney) she gave the assets to the wrong people.
